INTRODUCTION

This fellowship was generously created by Mr. Mark Marcogliese and Mrs. Gail Marcogliese.

PURPOSE OF FUND

Financially support a graduate student at the University of Ottawa, who is conducting research at the University of Ottawa Brain and Mind Research Institute.

FELLOWSHIP DETAILS

Eligibility Criteria

The applicant must:

  1. be a Canadian citizen, a permanent resident, a person with the protected/refugee status or an international student;
  2. be registered as a full-time student in a graduate program at the University of Ottawa;
  3. conduct research at the University of Ottawa Brain and Mind Research Institute as part of their program; and
  4. demonstrate great potential in their field of research.

Note: Priority will be given (but not limited to) research in the following areas: mental illness, bipolar disorder, depression, traumatic brain injury, Parkinson's disease, autism, and dementia including Alzheimer’s.  

Value of the award:                 Between $10,000 and $20,000

APPLICATION PROCEDURE

Applications must be made to the uOttawa Brain and Mind Research Institute and should include:

  1. a research summary or abstract (max. 400 words) explaining the applicant’s project;
  2. the applicant’s transcript;
  3. two letters of reference; and
  4. the applicant’s CV.
