The Honourable Don Boudria Award for Excellence

 

INTRODUCTION

This award was generously created by the Honourable Don Boudria. He is a former Canadian cabinet minister who first served in municipal politics before being elected to the Ontario legislature and then going on to sit in the House of Commons for more than 22 years. He holds a degree in history, as do his two children, who completed their studies at the University of Ottawa. Mr Boudria’s grandchildren are also attending the University of Ottawa. Through this scholarship, Mr. Boudria would like to help foster a deeper understanding of the history of our beautiful and vast country.

PURPOSE OF FUND

Offer an award to the undergraduate student registered in the Honours BA in History and who has achieved the highest mark in either the course HIS1101 The Making of Canada or the course HIS1501 La formation du Canada.

SCHOLARSHIP DETAILS

Eligibility Criteria

The applicant must:

  1. be a Canadian citizen, a permanent resident, a person with the protected/refugee status or an international student;
  2. be registered as a full-time or part-time student in the Honours BA in history at the Department of History of the Faculty of Arts of the University of Ottawa; and
  3. have achieved the highest mark in either the course HIS1101 The Making of Canada or the course HIS1501 La formation du Canada.
