Craig S. Haynes Common Law Scholarship
for Distinguished Community Builders

INTRODUCTION

This scholarship was created thanks to the generosity of Mr. Craig S. Haynes, who was President of the University of Ottawa Alumni Association from 2011 to 2014 and an alumnus of the Faculty of Law, Common Law Section (LLB ’99). This scholarship is intended to recognize students who, while enrolled in the Common Law program, have generously given of their time, talent, or treasure to community-minded projects in order to help build a compassionate, just, generous, and inclusive Canada, and who have inspired others to do the same.

PURPOSE OF FUND

To annually award a scholarship to an upper-year student who, while enrolled in the Common Law program, has earned distinction by generously giving of their time, talent, or treasure to community-minded projects in order to help build a compassionate, just, generous, and inclusive Canada.

SCHOLARSHIP DETAILS

Eligibility Criteria

The applicant must:

1. be a Canadian citizen, a permanent resident, a person with the protected/refugee status or an international student;

2. be registered as a full-time or part-time student in the second or third year of the JD program at the Faculty of Law, Common Law Section of the University of Ottawa; and

3. demonstrate community involvement.
