INTRODUCTION
Allan Michael Miskell (November 10, 1983 – March 22, 2006) was a percussion student in the University of Ottawa’s School of Music. He developed acute leukemia at the age of 21 and underwent a bone marrow transplant. He became well enough for a time to rejoin his family, friends and fellow musicians and to appear again with the University of Ottawa Orchestra in 2006.

However, his illness returned and despite a heroic struggle he died of leukemia in March 2006.

He remains in the hearts of his family, his many friends, professors, staff and students of the School of Music. This award was established at the University to honour his legacy of great dedication and enthusiasm for life and for music.

PURPOSE OF FUND
