Nora Hickson-Kelly Scholarship in Music
 
INTRODUCTION
This scholarship was established in 2001 by Nora Kelly. Mrs. Kelly is a former teacher and a noted historian of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police. She is the author of The Men of the Mounted, and co-author, with her husband, of The Royal Canadian Mounted Police: A Century of History, and Policing in Canada.  She also is an accomplished pianist.
 
PURPOSE OF FUND
To provide a scholarship to a deserving student registered in a Bachelor of Music program (piano performance) at the School of Music in the Faculty of Arts of the University of Ottawa.
 
SCHOLARSHIP DETAILS
Eligibility Criteria
The applicant must:
  1. be a Canadian citizen, a permanent resident, a person with the protected/refugee status or an international student;
  2. be registered in a Bachelor of Music program (including the BMus combined programs) in the School of Music in the Faculty of Arts of the University of Ottawa;
  3. demonstrate academic excellence; and
  4. show outstanding potential in piano performance and have the intention of pursuing a professional career as a performing pianist.

APPLICATION PROCEDURE
Applications must be made through Online Scholarships and Bursaries, which can be accessed through the uoZone portal, and should include a letter from the applicant stating his/her intention of pursuing a professional career as a performing pianist.
