Margaret and Michel Roussel Scholarship

in Classical Studies

PURPOSE OF FUND

The Margaret and Michel Roussel Scholarship in Classical Studies aims to encourage academic excellence and bilingualism at the University of Ottawa. The scholarship is awarded to a full-time student registered in the Honours BA in Classical Studies, the Honours BA in Classics or the Honours BA in Greek and Roman Studies at the Department of Classics and Religious Studies.

The donors thank the Government of Ontario, which helped to create this fund through its generous matching contribution.

SCHOLARSHIP DETAILS

Eligibility Criteria

The applicant must:

  1. be registered as a full-time student in the third or fourth year of studies in the Honours BA in Classical Studies, the Honours BA in Classics or the Honours BA in Greek and Roman Studies at the Department of Classics and Religious Studies;
  2. demonstrate academic excellence;
  3. be an Ontario resident, as per OSAP[2] rules; and
  4. demonstrate financial need, as determined by the Financial Aid and Awards Service of the University of Ottawa.

Value of the Award:         Minimum $1,000

Number of Awards:          Variable

Frequency of the Award:  Annual

Level of the Award:          Undergraduate

APPLICATION PROCEDURE

  • Applications must be made through Online Scholarships and Bursaries, which can be accessed through the uoZone portal, and should include the Financial Questionnaire.
