INTRODUCTION

The International Scholarship for Children and Families of Canadian Soldiers was made possible through proceeds from the International Golf Classic. Created in 2001 by its founder and champion, local businessman Krishan Gupta, this charitable golf tournament brings together representatives from the government, and the diplomatic and business community to raise money to support children in need in the Ottawa area & internationally. To date, the International Golf Classic has benefitted CHEO, OCTC, Algonquin College, Champions for Children Foundation, Foundation for Fighting Blindness, The MS Society of Ottawa, The Ottawa Heart Institute, Victims of the 2006 Tsunami, and more. Most recently, the Telfer School of Management at the University of Ottawa was a benefactor, allowing the creation of this new scholarship for children or spouses of Canadian soldiers.

PURPOSE OF FUND

This scholarship has been created in recognition of Canadian military families and the sacrifices they make, with the intention of providing financial support to a deserving family member pursuing a business degree at the Telfer School of Management.
