INTRODUCTION
The Austrian Canadian Council (ACC) was established with charitable status in 1994. It acts as an umbrella organization for the more than twenty Austrian clubs and societies across Canada, and its mandate is to inform Canadians about Austrian culture and learning, giving them an appreciation of Austrian studies, Austrian graphic and performing arts and Austrian intellectual life and literature. The Council also acts as a sponsor of Austrian scholarly and cultural activities in Canada. Gerhard (Garry) Bonner became the ACC’s first President on February 14, 1995.
 
PURPOSE OF FUND
Provide financial assistance to a student registered in the German Language and Culture program at the Department of Modern Languages and Literatures who demonstrates an interest in Austrian culture.
 
SCHOLARSHIP DETAILS
Eligibility Criteria
The applicant must:
  1. be a Canadian citizen, a permanent resident, a person with the protected/refugee status or an international student;
  2. be registered as a full-time undergraduate student in the German Language and Culture program at the Department of Modern Languages and Literatures of the Faculty of Arts of the University of Ottawa;
  3. be in good academic standing; and
  4. demonstrate an interest in Austrian culture.

APPLICATION PROCEDURE
Applications must be made through Online Scholarships and Bursaries, which can be accessed through the uoZone portal, and should include a letter from the applicant detailing his/her interest in Austrian culture.
