Shelagh and David Williams Scholarship in Music

INTRODUCTION

The donors recognize the importance of scholarships to students to allow them to continue their education and to concentrate on their studies without being unduly distracted by financial concerns. The donors have had a lifelong interest in music and wish to help ensure that music will continue to be taught and performed at the University of Ottawa.

The donor thanks the Government of Ontario, which helped create this fund through its generous matching contributions.

 

PURPOSE OF FUND

To provide financial assistance to an undergraduate or graduate student at the School of Music.

SCHOLARSHIP DETAILS

Eligibility Criteria

The applicant must:

  1. be a Canadian citizen or a permanent resident;
  2. be registered full-time in an undergraduate or graduate program at the School of Music;
  3. be an Ontario resident, as per OSAP[2] rules;
  4. demonstrate financial need, as determined by the Financial Aid and Awards Service of the University of Ottawa; and
  5. be in good academic standing.

 

Value of the Award: Minimum $1,500
Number of Awards: Variable

Frequency of the Award: Annual

Renewable:                          Yes, for a maximum of two consecutive years

Level of the Award: Undergraduate and graduate

APPLICATION PROCEDURE

Applications must be made through Online Scholarships and Bursaries, which can be accessed through https://scholarships.uottawa.ca, and should include the Financial Questionnaire.

RENEWAL PROCEDURE
Recipients of the scholarship who wish to have it renewed must follow the application procedure detailed above.
