2008 Canadian Chemical Engineering
Conference Scholarship

INTRODUCTION

The 58th Canadian Chemical Engineering Conference was held in Ottawa. The University of Ottawa and the Department of Chemical and Biological Engineering at the University of Ottawa actively contributed to the success of the conference under the leadership of Dr. Handan Tezel from the Department of Chemical and Biological Engineering as the Chair of the Conference and Mr. Bruno Morin from Axens (formerly RioTinto Alcan) as the Vice-Chair of the conference. All fundraising activities were conducted by volunteers from the Department of Chemical and Biological Engineering at the University of Ottawa. It is in view of these facts that the organizing committee and the Department decided to use the surplus revenue from this conference to create scholarships for students registered in an undergraduate degree program at the Department of Chemical and Biological Engineering of the University of Ottawa.

The University of Ottawa Department of Chemical and Biological Engineering wishes to thank the Government of Ontario who helped create this fund through their generous matching contribution.

PURPOSE OF FUND

To provide needed financial assistance to undergraduate students registered in any program within the Department of Chemical and Biological Engineering at the University of Ottawa.
