NAME OF ANNUAL FUND
Luc Lauzière-University of Ottawa Human Resources Scholarship
Since 2011, employees working in Human Resources at the University of Ottawa have participated in the Employee Giving program by donating to a scholarship sponsored by the University of Ottawa Human Resources team. Luc Lauzière was the Manager, Pension Programs when this scholarship was created and he volunteered to participate in, and later coordinate, the Human Resources program that funds this scholarship. Moreover, in 2013, he began serving as a member of the program’s board. Luc worked at Human Resources for 18 years and was Associate Director, Pension Plans, when he died on April 18, 2016. In recognition of his involvement in, and dedication to, this worthy cause, the scholarship has been renamed in his memory.
PURPOSE OF FUND
Support excellence and provide financial assistance and networking opportunities to students registered in the Bachelor of Commerce Option in Human Resource Management at the University of Ottawa’s Telfer School of Management, who require financial assistance and who demonstrate an interest in working in the HR field.
The applicant must:
1. be a Canadian citizen, a permanent resident, a person with the protected/refugee status or an international student;
2. be registered full-time to his/her 3rd or 4th year of study in the Bachelor of Commerce Option in Human Resource Management at the University of Ottawa’s Telfer School of Management; and
3. demonstrate financial need, as determined by the Financial Aid and Awards Service of the University of Ottawa.
