Ottawa Fringe Festival Bursary

INTRODUCTION

This fund was established in 1997 in honour of the Ottawa Fringe Festival. The Festival is a ten-day celebration of the most exciting, innovative and original theatre, dance, music and comedy - featuring over 350 performances by more than 55 companies from the Capital Region, across the country and around the world at ten venues in the heart of the city. The donors thank the Alumni Association of the University of Ottawa and the Government of Ontario for their matching contributions.

PURPOSE OF FUND

To provide financial assistance to undergraduate students at the Department of Theatre whose education would otherwise be compromised.

BURSARY DETAILS

Eligibility Criteria

The applicant must:

1. be a Canadian citizen, a permanent resident or a person with the protected/refugee status;

2. be registered full-time in an undergraduate program at the Department of Theatre of the University of Ottawa;

3. be an Ontario resident, as per OSAP [2] rules; and

4. demonstrate financial need, as determined by the Financial Aid and Awards Service of the University of Ottawa.

Note : Preference will be given to acting or directing students and to visible minorities.
