Jacob Freedman Memorial Award

INTRODUCTION

The award was established by the Ottawa Jewish Historical Society through the generosity of the Jacob Freedman Charitable Foundation.

PURPOSE OF FUND

To offer an award to a an undergraduate or graduate student registered at the University of Ottawa in recognition of the excellence of his/her work in the field of Jewish studies and its significance to the Jewish community of the Cities of Ottawa and Gatineau, Eastern Ontario and Western Quebec.

AWARD DETAILS

Eligibility criteria

The applicant must:

1. be registered on a full-time or part-time basis in an undergraduate or graduate program at the University of Ottawa; and

2. submit high quality papers OR an outline of a project on Jewish studies which has significance to the Jewish community of Ottawa (the subject must be approved in advance by the Ottawa Jewish Historical Society).

Value of Award: Minimum $1,000 - Maximum $2,000
