Catherine Helen MacLean Memorial Bursary
INTRODUCTION
Catherine Helen MacLean will be honoured in perpetuity with the creation of this bursary. Ms. MacLean’s life ended tragically on January 27, 2001, when she was struck and killed by a vehicle driven by a Russian diplomat. In addition to her practice at Nelligan O’Brien Payne LLP, Catherine was a popular part-time professor at the University of Ottawa.
The partners of the law firm Nelligan O’Brien Payne LLP and Mr. John Fryer, Q.C. initiated this bursary as part of the Catherine Helen MacLean Memorial Fund. They wish to express their appreciation to the many generous supporters of the fund.
PURPOSE OF FUND
To provide financial assistance to a student registered in the second or third year of the JD program at the Faculty of Law, Common Law Section.
BURSARY DETAILS
Eligibility Criteria
The applicant must:
1. be registered in the second or third year of the JD program at the Faculty of Law, Common Law Section of the University of Ottawa;
2. demonstrate financial need, as determined by the Financial Aid and Awards Service of the University of Ottawa; and
3. demonstrate academic excellence.
Value of the Award: $2,400 -$3,000
