NAME OF ENDOWMENT FUND ( OSOTF )
André Poirier Scholarship
The André Poirier Fund was established in May 2002 during a cocktail reception at the Restaurant Oncle Tom, 138 Wellington Street, Gatineau (formerly Hull). The purpose of the reception was to commemorate the premature death of our colleague André, at the age of 60. A first fundraiser was organized on that occasion to establish the André Poirier Fund in his memory. André Poirier was a 1962 graduate of the Faculty of Administration at the University of Ottawa. He had always remained close to his Alma Mater and his Faculty. He was the host of countless receptions at his Restaurant Oncle Tom for the awarding ceremonies of the Trudeau Medal and for other prestigious events. The donors are grateful to the Government of Ontario for its matching contribution through the Ontario Student Opportunity Trust Fund program.
