Amcor Twinpak Scholarship (Sports)

INTRODUCTION

The Amcor Twinpak Scholarship Fund was created in 1997. The President and Chief Executive Officer, James D. Allen, is a graduate of the Faculty of Administration (BCom 63) and played football with the Gee-Gees for several seasons. Amcor Twinpak - North America Inc. is a North American leader in PET, flexible and specialty plastic packaging. It services a vast range of clients in the food, beverage, personal care, cosmetic, and other industries. Over the years, it has demonstrated sustained ability to successfully meet the ever?changing demands of its global customers and prides itself on a long?standing commitment to quality. In addressing quality of life issues, Amcor Twinpak has a strong sense of responsibility towards the environment and the community. The donor thanks the Alumni Association of the University of Ottawa and the Government of Ontario for their matching contributions.

PURPOSE OF FUND

To provide financial assistance to football athletes whose education would otherwise be compromised.

SCHOLARSHIP DETAILS

Eligibility Criteria

The applicant must:

1. be registered as a full-time student-athlete (as determined by the CIS, OUA and RSEQ) and be a member of the Gee-Gees Football Team of the University of Ottawa;

2. be an Ontario resident, as per OSAP [2] rules; and

3. demonstrate financial need, as determined by the Financial Aid and Awards Service of the University of Ottawa.
