Alexander Macklin Scholarship in Viola

INTRODUCTION

This scholarship fund was generously created by Alexander and Gloria Macklin to support students at the School of Music who play the viola. Alexander Macklin studied the viola at the Royal Conservatory in Toronto in his youth and now wishes to give back to music students who, like him, favoured this instrument.

PURPOSE OF FUND

To award a scholarship to a deserving and promising student at the School of Music of the University of Ottawa, who specializes in the viola.

SCHOLARSHIP DETAILS

Eligibility Criteria

The candidate must:

1. be registered as a full-time student in an undergraduate or graduate program at the School of Music of the University of Ottawa;

2. be specializing in the viola; and

3. demonstrate academic excellence and promising talent.

Number of awards: One

Frequency of the award: Annual

Level or program of study: Undergraduate and graduate

APPLICATION PROCEDURE

No application is required. Every undergraduate and graduate student at the School of Music who specialize in the viola will be considered for this scholarship by the selection committee.
